Default ZPI Kit swap to TT mitzu manifold Update

I just finished getting my ZPI kit upgraded with a Turbo Toyotas manifold. What a difference! Had to do some prep work and re-position to turbo assembly and some custom work for the down-pipe and wastegate dump.

All started because I hit a road hazard with my downpipe and cracked the hell out of my original log-style manifold. See attachments for dents in s-pipe and craks in old mani. lol

Back in business now and wow what an improvement.

Looks good how's the boost response with TT manifold.

I would say boost is a little delayed, maybe 500RPM, compared to the original log mani but it comes in much stronger and lasts longer through the RPMs. The log mani just didn't flow well at higher RPMs. You could see this on the Dyno. The car is my daily driver and seems to respond smoother with this setup. Totally impressed with this mani and I haven't had the tune updated yet.

I will post all three historical Dyno sheets after I go back. The kit has gone through three dev cycles and has been a fun hobby.

Do you have before and after numbers?
Would be cool to see how much of a difference it makes.

Right now I am running the same tune I had with the log manifold. Once I go down to ESP again and have them tweak the tune I will post the before and after Dyno sheets.

What kind of turbo do u have?
Im running a 20G and if have 500rpm lag if i did something like this id be spooling at 34 to 3500rpm. DAmn id need to rape redline to like 8000 for a long pull

BIG EVO 16G - Spools quick!
Log Manifold would spool up to 8PSI by 2200 RPM
TT manifold spools up to 8PSI right around 2700 RPM

I like the change.... This slight difference improved the day-to-day driving dramatically and like I said before it feels better then the old setup when you hit it hard.

In short I don't feel like there is a lag issue, perhaps with a larger turbo.

Additionally I don't rape my car... 8000K on this block would = kaboom!
* It's not to often that I need to win that bad :D

this actually sounds like a good idea for me, cause i go into boost so many times when im not trying to lol. if i give it just a little too much throttle it just takes off and i spin especially in the rain! i love the quick spool, but its kinda ridiculous

dENZA sounds like you have a supercharger LOL. IF you spool that fast then just change your compressor housing for a larger A/R ratio or change the turbo overall. What turbo do you run by the way?

Good to see the new setup is working for you Pdool enjoy it bro.

I know what you mean here. Living up in Maine has put this vehicle to the test. My Tc has seen four winters, three with the turbo. I bought some good tread and put a limited slip in the car and winter drives were fun again.

New manifold is cooking the under hood liner. Soooo I swapped it out for Dynamat under hood liner and that actually burned! No flame but a lot of smoke.

LOL - freaked me out at first.

I have a pretty good char going now and it seems to be ok; BUT I went ahead and ordered some Lava Exhaust Wrap to be safe.

Has anyone with a TT manifold found an hood liner that can take the close quarters heat?

Also here is a before and after shot of the ZPI Log mani and the TT mani.

take the hood liner off and put some of that gold heat wrap underneath the hood where the manifold would hit the liner.
