Default **First tC Mod!** Doc Isotope Type-R **** :-D

Hey I got my shift **** from Doctor Isotope (Thanks!) in the mail the other day so i decided so snap some pics. Sorry for the low quality, I took em on my Treo. I reversed the boot collar to give it a better flow. I was debating between the TRD ball **** or this type-r ****, I decided to go with the Type-R **** because it was a little bigger.

Hope you all like it!

More mods to come ...

That's a real nice shift ****. What kind of finish is it? What is Doctor Isotope's website?

Doc Iso is the man! Here is my "Nismo Style", I think 1.6" OD with the collar. I'll flip the boot around and install the collar properly when I get a chance. All his shift ***** are spun down from delrin, so it doesn't get hot or cold.

The boot set is from RedlineGoods.

oh yea I forgot to mention that. That's another thing I liked about Doc I's *****. Here in FL, it get's pretty hot out and I know too well just how annoying it can be to not even be able to use your shift **** without getting burnt!

I think eventually I'll want to get a nice short shifter, but I'm too lazy to do the install

I just wish they had the shift pattern engraved in the top and filled in white.
Sort of like this but black and white:

Well you could always buy a shift pattern sticker, like this one and just stick it near the shifter. I'm sure with the right search on eBay or through Google you could probably find something similar or closer to your likings.

Take it to a jewler or engraver and tell them to put it on top of the ****. Then fill with white paint.

you think a jewler could do that? Hmm if that's possible, I'd look into it, it'd prolly be cheap

Ask doc. He may be able to do something like that. It never hurts to ask. He posts on here and on yoursciontc.com

That's true true. I'm sure he could do something like that with all the products he's made. See the only thing is I wouldn't want to deal with the wait of sending it back and getting it back.

Oh well, no one really drives my car but me, and I know where my gears are (most of the time )

A problem I would forsee with engraving onto the **** would be the directionality of the engraving. It would look centered only for that shifter; chances are on any other shifter it would point in some other direction because where you start threading varies. That's when spacers come into play, i guess.

well what I noticed was that the **** can be screwed on to the shifter until a certain point, so engraving the shift pattern would still be possible to a certain degree since there are about 1 and a half turns until it is realy hard to screw the shift **** on tighter. It's the same with the stock tC ****, you can turn it until it's pretty tight, but it can still be turned some more to adjust it's position to your liking.

Usually right around 5oz, which is about the same as stock. On special request, I can make ***** around 9-10oz.

My Type-R **** felt shightly lighter than the stock ****, but not by much since I don't notice it at all when I'm shifting. I'm still using the stock shifter so I couldn't comment on shifting with a SS & Doc I. ****. A few people have his *****, and so far no complaints that I've heard.

Anyone else wanna chime in on how much they weigh?

EDIT: see they're about ther same as stock, which is fine for me..
