**Official shift knob picture post**
Ushki, interesting but not something I'd do
I finally got my boot and **** in! Interestingly, the **** came in Saturday and the boot came in today.

And from further away:

and even closer up:

I've still got some minor fussing to do in terms of what to do with the top of the boot (rolled up is fine, but being that much bigger than the shaft? Not fine). I also need to try a different adapter, I think this one is still too big. Lastly, I need to replace the double-sided tape with something that'll hold it better.
You can't tell because of the way the lighting is and the fact that there's 2 different materials involved, but they actually match perfectly and go beautifully with the interior of the car.

I used Dupli-Color in a rattlecan. Started with one coat of Adhesion Promoter. Then I used a coat of Ground Coat followed by MetalCast Anodized Blue and a couple coats of Clear coat. No one seems to believe me but I didn't use any sandpaper and it came out very smooth. The pictures don't do it justice. The paint makes it look like actual anodized metal when you use the Dupli-Color Ground Coat. Just remove the parts, tape well, and take your time.

Lower shifter height is just a popular options a lot of SS's have. A true racing SS setup involves a tall shifter combined with short throws.
