* Pink LED Testing Conclusion by LEDmod.com
I've been testing Pink LED for over a month....
I did alot of research and talked to many experts in LED.. also few LED manufacturer
There were others where they did the testing for pink LED... ALSO purple LED..
With their conclusion and my month of testing it proves that Pink Purple LED will have premature fading of the colors...
In current manufacturing process, all the pink and purple LED will be used for short term use....
Faded pink LED looks like very faint pink color...
Camera didn't do well, but it's more closer to white LED
New pink LED looks hot pink...
Pink LED were about 90% continuosly ON for a month...
[7/9/07] : New LED installed
- Nice hot pink color
[7/21/07] : Another new LED installed
- Just over 11 days, pink LED faded drastically...
[8/13/07] : Third new LED installed
- Just over a month, LED is pretty much not pink anymore.....

I just played around with really high power LED's that is used for lighting up buildings..
I'm gona try to get the 30-40 watt LED to play around with...
The 10 watt LED isn't at the typical intensity, it can be much brighter if I ran the current at the typical current
And, they DO require heat sink...
At 70% of the typical, it was just slightly warm with 2.25" x 2.25" heat sink...

All you had to do was ask about them! But good to see you did your own testing. We tested them out long ago which is why Dave, Trung and I do not offer them
I am currently testing a manufacturer that claims no fading guaranteed... we shall see as I am VERY skeptical of that claim.

The ones I have have only been tested partially, mainly because I have been travelling too much in the past few months to leave them on for long periods (I dont want them powered up for weeks if I am not home). But the info you gave above is the same I found out a while back when people started asking for them, and why I have not offered them. I contacted some manufacturers who told me the same thing.. but it is good to see it tested and documented here.
Good job getting a test complete though! Thanks for providing the info.
Paul (aka whiteblazer)..... the @$$ kissing can begin now...... after you basically calling me a liar for "misleading" people about these leds. Seems education and research trumped your wishful thinking/selling yet again.

I was hoping there are other manufacturer that will have better pink LED, but no luck..
They ALL fade..
Hopefully, your new LED will have good news....

Paul seems to alot of things to make a sale...
Selling fading pink LED.... also UV LED... even if custom wants them he shouldn't be selling them for that is used near out eyes...
UV LED should be used only for specific use like... checking counterfeit money.... also you can check for stains(?) on the bed....
The tough part of that claim, Jeremy, is that most say anywhere from 100 - 1000 hours before fading.. which leaves a big window of testing. Obviously those sampls above were closer to the 100 hour timeframe, but 1000 hours will take over a month. In either case though, I wouldnt sell them. I run my lights all the time (day and night) in the two cars I have that have auto off lights, so 1000 hours isnt a ton of life
What will happen, even with the ones that take longer to fade, is that the owner of the car will be used to it slowly over time.. until they see one with fresh pink leds in it ;)
As far as I know, they have not come out with a true pink led yet. By true, I mean it doesnt have to have any color on the lens at all. The pink color on the lens is phosphorescent in nature and creates the pink color from a white led. That material fades in color. A true pink led will have a water clear lens (or close), but I dont know of anyone finding materials to make that happen yet.
