For an 07 i want to replace the stock LEDs with red LEDs. I know that I don't need to replace the resistors but do i need to replace the voltage regulator?

lampe27 08-22-2009 06:00 AM

Okay so I messed things up tonight when trying to do mine. Where the voltage regulator goes, one of the spots where a leg solders to has no solder on it so the leg wont solder to anything. I think it's this is the problem, but tell me if this sounds right. The on/off lights work for almost everything, but the lcd along with the button letters don't light up. How can I fix this?

So the contact pad was removed??
If you look at the circuit trace next to the contact pad that connects to..
Just scratch off the green coating and expose the metal... then you can connect that to the leg of the voltage regulator..
If they are close enough, you can just use the solder.. but you can use small metal wire to make the connection..

Yeah the contact pad was removed. I think I fried the new voltage regulator because I tried the old stock one and it works fine. How much would it cost for another one? And how much of a difference in brightness would I get?

It will be free of charge for replacement, if you bought it from me..
Just pay for the S&H of $2...

Is it necessary? I am using the stock one right now and it works. Will it make it noticeably brighter?

Can I just send you the two dollars via paypal and have you ship it? I bought my kit a couple days ago. My order number is #1441.

Thanks,
