Default 08' TC with Upgrade Audio - Ipod on Direct Control!??

I have 2 TC's, one a SPEC 07, and the other a new 08 with the upgraded audio. I think its Pioneer, ... regardless ... the Ipod connects to the radio through the special cable they give you and it used to allow the radio to control the ipod. Scroll through files and songs right on the headunit.

but now for some reason it says when you plug it in that its in DIRECT CONTROL mode. Which means the headunit will not control the ipod any more, and it all has to be done through the ipod itself. We have completely reset the Ipod back to factory defaults and reverted back to the old firmware version as well to see if we can get it off of direct control ... but no luck, i think its a headunit thing, but i need help.

Anyone know what this feature is and how to get rid of it!!!???

Thank You

You might have to find the manual specifically for the head unit. You should be able to get it from the dealer if it wasn't provided for you already.

Yeah i do have it, but all it says is when you unplug the ipod, you need to turn direct control off. But never goes into detail about what it is or how to do it. Its a real bummer.

with the radio off, push and hold the menu button. use the wheel and turn over to the iPod tab, push the wheel straight in, and it will turn the direct control on/off. push the menu button (or power) again, and your all set. This is also where you would go to turn the subwoofer control on, if you were to get a subwoofer. (Note: this will NOT control the factory subwoofer)

all in the manual.
