10" subwoof question
So, its possible to run an aftermarket sub (with aftermarket amp) from the stock headunit into the stock bazooka box with the aftermarket sub inside?
If this is the case how?
I have the stock sub/amp and its not at all what I had expected. Its ok, but, I thought that 450 would at least get me decent.
I want to keep the stock headunit, and get an aftermarket setup that will go in the box that I already have.
Yes, I have searched, but this post hit my question on the head. Please let me know, and offer some guesses on prices. Furthermore, if you know anyone in the Oklahoma City area who can do this, and wont rip me off. Cost is not an issue if its done right the first time.

Yeah, I want my car to look stock and dont want the bulky box in the back (no one likes an oversized box). I just want a little more power from the sub. I also like the stock headunit (for what its worth).
So, yes I have the same question as you, and I hope someone can help us.

true but lots more money.. you can save so much if you just convert the power for the stock amp and pull the pluggs out of the power connector and wire them up to a new 600w amp and hook a new 600w sub to the new amp bam you keep the ssp head unit thing for bass control and you have a new bass system for way less then what you would of payed for a box, new installation, amp, and sub. be a lot more.
I really just like the fact that the factory sub is so tucked away and out of the way. You hardly notice that its there at all, and yes, to have a custom box like that cast (not to mention that I already own this one) would cost me quite a bit more money than I want to spend.
Ive lookeed and nice form fitting custom boxes are pretty expensive.

Besides, that amp is not 600 watts, it's 340 or so bridged. That sub will pop if it sees 600 watts. Its RMS is 120.
how would i run a new wire from the dash to where the stock amp is? if you tell me ill run a new amp power wire it will be easier for me besides hookin the wire from front to rear.
You basically run the power wire from the positive terminal of the battery, through the firewall, under the plastic panels at the bottom of the door, under the back seats, and into the trunk.
If you're going with aftermarket audio components, i'd highly recommend forgetting about the bazooka sub, enclosure or built-in amp. There's not much you can do with any of them.

also another ? when i connect the wire to the + battary and then run it through the firewall under the door panals thought the back seats to the amp does the SSP button still contoll the bass?
nah im going to get one.. getting the box made for the specific amp. All i need to know is how you hook up the power wire to battery. Then i need to know how it hooks up into the amp power. Also what wires do i use for the amp to sub woofer hookup ( do i use these? if so what gauge? http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...roducts_id=175 )
Also how do you run the wires to get to the sub.. do you drill a hole in the encloser? And one more question.. if i wanted to do neons in the rear.. i would do the same thing? Run it through the firewall under door panal to the rear and then hook them up? Thanks for your guys time.

The SSP is seperate of the power. As long as you use your stock head unit, it will remain.
I'm sorry, but you may want to take your ideas to a trustworthy shop, have them do it, and pay attention. If you aren't well aware of what you're doing, you can accidentally short something and without any fuses in-line to the power line, turn your car into a lovely blaze.
If you insist on moving ahead, this thread will help you greatly.

A box usually has terminals in the side of it that you connect the sub wires to on the inside, then lead the outside wires to the amp.
