The 13Av.2. True 13" speaker

We have been working on this guy for the past 2+ years.

Cant go into details about it, other than whats posted in the links.

I thought you guys would like to see these...especially the ones who have heard a flat cone A in the past.

in the vid it looks like the surround is folding really wierd on the inside.

 

Whoa. That's an insane amount of excursion. I'm guessing machine bolts and threaded inserts would be best for mounting this thing.

yea he explained it better than what is up with that? i've never seen a sub have the surround fold towards the inside like that.

have you guys at elemental designs ever seen a pierce audio products sub in action? they claim 3 inch peak to peak on their wmd series.

 

Pretty much any high excursion speaker will do that.

Keep in mind, in that vid, the speaker was moving almost 4".

It's totally planned for and doesn't hurt the speaker in any way

yea... i think a high-speed camera would be a great option to get really good vids

a camera that can take vids?

 

Yeah, drag + drop > stream over firewire for working quickly.
