Default 2-way remote start alarms and MT compatibility

i am looking at 2-way pager remote start alarm systems. particularly DEI brand. I cannot tell which ones are MT compatible or are they only for AT's? I like the python 1090 and the hornet 564. curiously, the hornet 564 sister, the avital 4400 is only AT, but i think the hornet 564 is MT and AT. any hints here?

any DEI will work just make sure you bypass the clutch.

It can be done, I have done a remote start on my tC and it was not an easy task. Since we have 2 starter wires and 2 ignition wires the other 2 wires need relays in order for them to get 12 volts when the car is being remote started. So you would need 3 relays, 1 for the clutch bypass, 1 for the 2nd ignition wire, and 1 for the 2nd starter wire.

Thats only if you plan on installing this yourself. If you do not, I'm pretty sure your shop will know what to do.

i was really looking for an alarm that is designed for MT. while i am fond of "koreangineering," i prefer ready-to-go MT-compatible system. These do exist, right?

nothing is ready to go for a MT. there is a lot of work in order to get a remote start to work properly on a MT. Any Compustar alarm/remote start will work with a MT car. I highly recommend Compustar because in order for you to remote start a MT car it has to be in a mode called Reservation Mode. If the car is not in that mode then it will not remote start. Once it is put in that mode and any of the doors or hatch is opened it cancels it and will not remote start, so there are safety features for a MT car.

DEI has a module designed for manual transmissions. Every other auto-start will work, just be sure your car is in neutral when you use it. Although it might be cool to start the car and jump in it like Batman.
