2006 TC (Center Console Audio Flip Door Problem)
When i got my TC i noticed that the centor console flip door where the audio system is Closes just fine but when you tap it to Open it will get stuck half way. Now i know there is a recall for this for the 2005 TC'S but nothing posted for the new 2006 Tc's. So i called my dealership and spent about 2 hours waiting just to ____ing hear that we put in a new unit and it still does the same thing. So, after wasting time with them i went to a better dealership that i have some connections with. So they did the samething and put in the flip door unit and it still does the same thing. They showed me that my flip door was rubbing on something and ordered me a whole new audio unit and flip door console. Which was suprising gettin all that under warranty when my audio unit was fine. So, basically if you do have this problem and it feels like its rubbing up on something and gettin stuck. Tell them you want it all new and none of that bullshyt that they can't find the problem. If anybody wants ill shot a quick video on what i am talking about. Hope this will help some scion owners with the same problem.
Good stuff. I took my radio door in a couple of times, because I was tired of pounding on it to get it to open. The dealership had to 'modify' the door to get it to open right. I don't know what they did, but it opens easily with the press of a finger now.
