Mandos, not to take away from the topic of this post, but I just bought 2 EU700s for the rear of my tC. I have polk dB6500s in the doors. I will be running 100W rms to each of them, and 183W @ 2ohms to the rear EU700s. I am hoping to eliminate the need to have the huge box in the rear. Will this sound good? I don't want boomy bass, but still like to feel a little bit of it.

What do you guys think about JL audio 12" w1v2 subs?

 

^^ they do well with sealed boxes... don't use JL's box design in the manual for the ported though, makes the tuning somewhere around 42Hz

 

Any suggestions on removing the area in blue and dropping it down to the rest of the spare tire wells height?

Obviously can't pull that one off w/ a dremel

hehe, that or you may want to get a cutting torch and a welder. that would probably get you a cleaner modification.

 

Got bored last night and tried that one....figured it'd be easier than cutting/welding. Doesn't really dent too easily...or maybe having 1/8" of eDead that I'm hitting diffuses the strike enough.

 

I like the hammer option better

All any MAN needs in his toolbox is a hammer and duck tape.

Hammer to take it apart, duck tape to put it back togethor.

Gas tank is definitely not under there...it's empty

 

cutting torch and weld a new piece of sheet metal in. DONT USE THE HAMMER. It will look like ****!!!!!!

 

Gave it a whack just to see if it would work.

It won't.

Can't evenly invert the dimple in the metal.

Plus, measured for the horizontal brace...it'd intersect the speaker anyway.

Time to figure out how to functionally invert the speakers
