Default Adding cooling fans for my amps. Help Qest...

I have mounted two amps to the right of the spare wheel. I'll be covering my two amps so they seem hidin(under the carpet). I know they get hot and heat will affect them. So i'll want to instal 4-5 pc cooling fans. I know where i want to mount them but my question is how do i power them up? I know i can connect them to any 12volt calbe but i don't want them to be on every time i turn my key to Acc. I would like to power them up only when i turn onmy headunit. Is there a wy i can connect some sort of reley to tell them to turn on when i turn on my headunit. Maybe use the same calbe that turns on my amps to turn on my cooling fans? Please anyone help.

well cooling won't be a problem unless u got ur system is on for a long time (bout 4-5 hours continuosly.) but if u must install fans i would suggest hooking them up to a relay. u need to ground the relay, put a constant power input and then use the power from the remote wire coming out of the deck (usually the blue w/white wire) for the switch power input. that way the fans will turn on when ur deck powers on and turn off when u shut ur deck off or turn ur car off. hope this helps.

get a SPDT relay. take your remote wire from the bakk of your headunit... use a female terminal, hook it to 85. take another wire, ground one end somewhere to your car nearby if possible and connect the other end to 86. run or find a wire that has 12v constant and connect that to 30. then connect all the + wires from your fans into 87. leave 87a empty.

youll see the numbers on the relay once you get it. this setup will do exactly what you need.
