Default aftermarket HU installation kit?

Where in the world can you get a 2006 tc, aftermarket double din/ installation kit? I've searched this entire site, or it seems like it and can't find jack squat.

Don't need a double-din install kit... just screw the stock brackets into the screw holes on the side of your aftermarket double-din.

the crutchfield unit, I believe, is only a single DIN... for double, just use stock brackets and fab a trim ring if needed..

I think the kit is actually Metra, but it's best to get it from crutchfield... it'll have the instructions for safely taking apart your car and free customer service if you have any problems..

If you would have purchased your new HU at Crutchfield, you would have gotten the kit, the harnesses, and master sheets for FREE! (Assuming if you paid for the new HU you currently have.) Of course, your purchase has to be over a certain amount.

Bump. Is this all I would need for a double-DIN installation?

If you're installing a double-din HU, then you can use those, but I wouldn't say they're "needed". That kit just fills in the gaps on the side of the HU. If you don't care about the gap, you can use the stock metal brackets.

You don't need a kit if you are mounting a double din unit. You just use the factory mounting brackets to mount the radio. If you want to get rid of the extra space around the radio, any local stereo shop can make a good one out of ABS.
