Default Alarm systems for tC other than Scion Security

I just bought my tC a couple weeks ago but didnt wanna spend 500 from the dealer for the scion security. my friend can get me the viper alarm w/ shock sensor, lcd screen that shows if and where some1 breaks in ur car for only 250. my question is: Will this alarm or any other for that matter, work and still operate the keyless entry, or will i have to use both remotes??? who else has car alarms other than scions?? and what kind??

Both remotes still work, however if you arm your car with the viper alarm, you need to unarm with the viper remote, unless use the hidden button.

wouldnt it be nice if the scion key buttons could be reprogramed to accomidate other alarm system brands you wouldnt have to carry around an oversized key and a alarm fob. doubtful it would be possible/ ever happen

You will only need to use viper. you don't need the scion key.
i have Python, it mother company also makes Viper. I don't even carry the big scion keyless entery, i just carry the smaller scion valet key. i nver lock the glove compartment anyway.

how hard is it to install a car alarm?? i've never done it before, but i have yet to pay to get anything installed and wouldn't like to start. How difficult is it/how long does it take? I've done an intake, interior lights, underbodys, etc. so i somewhat know the ins and outs of the electrical. that viper 791xv is pretty nice for under $200.

____, 45 minutes is nothing! anyone else know how to do it, or have done it themselves? It took like 5 hours to do my underbody kit - gotta make it perfect
