Where can you install 2-way alarm systems on a tC, and what alarm do you recommend?

DEI makes two way alarms in their viper, clifford and some other product line. code alarm also have 2way alarms, i think compustar does as well. you can get it install at any audio electronic places...i've had viper alarms on my previous cars and they all work flawlessly...

I've heard about the Viper and Clifford alarms, I'm gonna check the pricing on them. Looking for something around the $150-180 range. Also have to find a place in Miami where they install them. Thanks for the tips tho.

a good viper or clifford will cost you 300 and up depending on options and accessories...$150 to 180 won't get you very far

Search online, I bought my viper 791xv for $185 shipped off of amazon.com brand new. I'm having a friend who works for a car shop install it on Saturday.

the problem with buying online is you don't get the lifetime warranty that DEI offers by buying and installing at an authorized dealer...

and i don't think amazon themselves carries the alarm, you mostly likely bought it from a 3rd party seller selling thru amazon.com.

I bought my Viper 791xv from amazon too and yes it was from a 3rd party. I paid 145 for install from an authorized DEI dealer. I couldn't beat the price. All the shops that I called were selling them for over 500.00, which included installation.

Viper 791XV all the way. I would also suggest getting the window modulator as well as the trunk modulator..so you can one button press the windows down as well as popping the trunk.

The guy that I have installing it for me, his shop is an authorized DEI dealer so I will still get the lifetime warranty :D . It is still cheaper to buy online and take it to an authorized dealer for the install. Just a thought. I'm glad everyone loves the viper though, I can't wait to finally get it installed

Sorry you will not get a a life time warranty, unless the dealer wants to make a fake invoice for the sale of the alarm. just having a authorized dealer install it does not give you a life time warranty.

thats what i was thinking. but the money save might be worth it to some....i once fried a clifford alarm brain somehow from jumping my battery. circuit city replaced it under warranty and installed a viper instead.

Thanks for letting me know that. He told me that he can get me a new one for free if anything ever happens to mine. Fake invoice - maybe? I don't think I will end up frying it ((HOPEFULLY!!)) Thats good to know though

well.. the window modulator is nice to have... if you live in nice weather and you have a habit of leaving your windows rolled down...
i have them in mine just to show customers that it can be done... i also have it on my sunroof ... just got bored one day at work...

forn the trunk... you dont need to have a mod to open it... red with white wire goes to trunk pop wire.. which i want to say is orange...

but.. do yourself a favor... spend the extra money... get it from an authorized dealer and pay to get it installed... i have seen plenty of these alarms eventually go bad... and the shop will be a lot more friendly about fixing your stuff if something to were ever happen...
