and dude you know that recaro makes many style of seats...so they use a variety of second materials along with suede for the seats.. i guess you've never really seen a few in person to know that..

look at jdm itr seats, sti, even euro recaros.. they are all dif. in secondary materials.. but the only constant is REAL SUEDE.. NOT ALCANTARA...

call me when you gain some more knowledge.

I understand that people prefer real suede.
Alcantara's main benefits are .

Stain resistant, light weight and fairly durable.

BTW the STI has not got real suede in it.( if you had ever been in one you would know) and most recaros have Alcantara to keep the weight down.

Personally I think its over priced ($112 a yard from the websites authorised dealer) but it doesnt get those funny marks on it like my last tC

I think if I didnt have an RS2 i would have got leather as the tC is not a light or fast car at all ( i bought it for the color ).

It seems that most RS1 owners hate the RS2. I like them both
But most tC drivers think just cause they are faster than an xA they drive a performance car.

If the xB is the new beetle, the tC is the new Karmann Ghia( looks good but not a sports car)

im sorry but you are wrong.. being that 3 of my friends work for subaru.. there is no alcantara in the seats.. ITS A RECARO SEAT FOR CRYING OUTLOUD.. you obviously have not OWNED an sti/wrx because you would also be able to tell the diff. between suede and alcantara.. i have been in and have family and friends who own these cars.. lol.. you dont know what your talking about..

please refer to my thread above with the links... you will also benefit from it.

ppl please note.. ANY REAL RECARO designed after 94 uses REAL SUEDE not alcantara... and subarus use REAL SUEDE not alcantara on their recaros.... why do you think real recaros cost 650+ bucks and alcantara fakes cost less then 400.... c'mon ppl.. do your research!
Tell me why I can still find alcantara in Recaro seats until now? The Lamborghini Gallardo / Gallardo Spyder uses Leather/Alcantara for their seats, I still haven't found on their website any suede yet.

And this one you posted is not an OEM equipment:
http://hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1567989

Anyways Recaro's suede seats are called Dinamica Suede-their definition of that is:
The elegant, suede-effect cover is soft and easy-care. Makes for
a high-quality and sporty ambience in the vehicle.

thats and OEM honda seat.. they come in blue, red, black!! AND YELLOW!!! if you knew what you were talking about you would know that! Recaro Speeds were standard in JDM itr's and ctr's... that design was specifically made for honda. notice how other recaro seats for other companies have a diff. design layout.

Just as a point a clarification, the Subaru WRX STi doesn't use Alcantara or suede, it's Ecsaine. However, the 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT spec.B does use Alcantara. Also, yes, Recaro has a wide selection of OEM (Audi, Subaru, Mitsubishi, etc) and aftermarket seats with Alcantara.

[EDIT: Oops! upon further review Ecsaine is the Japanese brand name for Alcantara]

You'd be surprised where Alcantara (ultrasuede) appears:

NOO according to TCpete
ANY REAL RECARO designed after 94 uses REAL SUEDE not alcantara... and subarus use REAL SUEDE not alcantara on their recaros....

Even mitsu doesn't even say suede, FABRIC/alcantara fabric

If you still think the whole world is wrong call up all those companies and tell them hey you are all wrong its suede because I "TCpete" said so

WOW

tcPete,

at 12:20 PM you were quoted saying, "subarus use recaro seats...and recaro uses REAL SUEDE.. not alcantara.. get your facts straight homie, ANY REAL RECARO designed after 94 uses REAL SUEDE not alcantara."

then at 12:41PM you were quoted saying, "dude you know that recaro makes many styles of seats...so they use a variety of second materials along with suede for the seats.. i guess you've never really seen a few in person to know that"

ok so now read your post of 12:39 PM (but this time say it to yourself) "haha ok so now u just read what you wrote and realized how dumb you sounded "

this post had nothing to do with Alcantara being leather. ITS NOT. Recaro uses alcantara and leather. look on there website. call the number.

tcPete, you obviously have no idea what your talking about and eveyone sees this as you contradict yourself.

alcantara may not be good for you but it is for compnaies like Aston Martin, BMW, Audi S-lines, Porsche, Formula one racers, Gran Turismo cars, and we cant forget RECARO.

as seen here.... http://www.ultrasuede.com/products/automotive/oem/

dont bother with anymore replies. know one cares. thats not what this post is about.

taken from the website above...

Is Ultrasuede® pet friendly?

The advanced non-woven construction of Ultrasuede® makes it inherently pet friendly. It's impossible to scratch, there are no threads to pull or fray, and Ultrasuede® will never retain odors, absorb stray hairs or show signs of stains from pet "accidents."

if it can stand up to an animal mauling all over it like my cat, then its worth more to me than any leather or real suede. all these companies use alcantara because ITS BETTER. ITS EASIER and its NOT LEATHER!

Pete,pete,pete.

I think you know how foolish you look right now.
There are more Scoobies sold in Scotland that almost anywhere else.Ive driven every model of STi youve ever heard of and a few you havent ( the steering wheel is on the same side in Scotland as it is in japan, so lots of grey import fun. and we all want to be Colin Macrae)
They all have Alcantara not suede.but its ok dont worry we forgive you.

They use it in the Lancia Delta Intergrale even in the headliner ( sweet )

I am just amazed that in a thread this long NO ONE has spelt it SWUEDE

Mr. Pete was telling people off like he knew everything there is about Alcantara and Suede. Very foolish indeed...
