I plan on getting a Pioneer 6800, but I was told that I needed this to be able to utilize my steering wheel controls:

70 bucks seems a bit lame considering the deck itself is only 210. Is there any cheaper substitute or does anyone know of a place to get this item cheaper? Most of these on ebay end up being about the same price.

Is PAC SWI-X the exact same thing?

Get the Pac SWI PS

This is made for Pioneer and Sony units and doesnt need a remote to program. The Pac SWI X uses an EYE to communicate, so it must be mounted pointed to your radio.

has anyone installed the SWIX? looks complicated as hell and has been sitting in my bedroom for months waiting to be installed...
