Would the red circled bolts be acceptable grounds for my amp? They are so convenient and easy to access.... seems too good to be true

 

looks like a good ground point to me. Just get the paint off to make it a strong ground point.

 

yeah, they'll work. Um...if you ever lower your car, don't forget to reconnect the ground. Those are your rear strut bolts.

 

do you know of any place for an amp under the fron seat... i tried the seatbelt bolt and it keeps blowin fuses... what about the actual seat bolt?

 

seat bolt should work. I dont know, both of my amps sit in the foam thing next to the spare tire.

 

right where the seat bolts are is a good spot. drill a new hole, and it should work fine.

Mexicola420 what size gauge is your power wire? if the gauge is to small for your amp current the fuse will blow.

As long as you rebolt it...MAKE SURE YOU DO...it's all good.

Not sure if that metal has a coating on it or not, but a quick rub w/ some sand paper can't hurt

 

Sounds good, just a quick question mandos.... why didn't you edead the hatch itself (on your walkthrough)? Seems like it would help since the license plate is right on the other side.

 

Yes it will work fine. It's where my amp is grounded. You have to scuff the paint so that it can contact bare metal, however.

my wire is 14 guage but ive already checked on the web the guage of wire i need for a certain amount of amperage and 14 works... either way, i had it working before.... but this morning when i rerouted the ground.. it started blowin fuses like crazy.. i went through a whole box..... its just the ground

those are a good ground point, but those bolts are a son of a b*tch to get off, unless you jack the car up

Mexicola420 14 gauge power wire? if you are running 14 gauge from your battery to your amp that the reason your are browing fuses. 14 gauge is speaker wire.

 

yeah, 14 gauge is WAAAAYYY too smal. Use a minimum of 12 gauge. What is the wattage of the amplifier?

 

jesus 14 gauge is for girls that's like using a tee-ball bat in the MLB!

 

go with some 4 or 8 gauge
