Default Amp recommendations...

Im buyin 2 Rockford Fosgate P1 12 inches DVC 4-ohm subs... and i was just wonderin if this sub would work with them...

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...1&locale=en_US

It seems like it would fit perfectly... it is a 2-channel amp.. one for each sub.. and it maxes out at 300 watts which is the max wattage of both subs combined...

rockford fostgate doesnt make a dual voice coil p1, unless it's not on their website.

if you meant the 12" DVC 4-ohm P2 by rockford, then that amp is not going to be enough. If you send 1 channel to each sub, and wire the subs to have a 2 ohm resistance, each sub is going to see 150w RMS. They would like to have 250w RMS.

please post a link to the specs of the sub your buying so i can make sure my suggestion isnt wrong.

that amp will be fine. Its fairly underated as well. in fact BBY used to have a "party pack" wich was 2 P1 subs and the 3002 amp and it worked great.

Arc audio makes some of the best amplifers on the market, the owner was the head engineer at ZAPCO.....

check there stuff out
http://www.arcaudio.com/arc-05/amplifiers.htm

I have always liked there product (zapco, or arc audio) rockford fosgate is ok, but thier quality has gond down hill in the past 5 years.
if you can get a zapco studio series you would not be unhappy, or even a memphis.

but this is my opinion.
Im running my amp in the spare tire area with cooling fans, i dont like people seeing my stuff.

I don't know... if you run one channel to each of the subs, there is going to be 4 ohms of resistance on each channel. with this amount of resistance, the amplifier only puts out 75w RMS on a sub that likes to have 150w RMS. I don't think it'll cut it in that regard.
unless you do some craziness with bridging and wiring the subs in parallel and crud like that, that amp still isnt going to cut it.
i'd just go with something like this:
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...9&locale=en_US

and just wire the subs together in parallel.

Excellent suggestion Neothin!!! The 3002 WON'T be enough power for 2 of those subs... the 3001 is 300x1@2ohm so you'll have to parallel your subs together and run them as a 2ohm mono load on the amp...
