i just ordered a new set of cdt cl-61 components to put in as my front speakers. i'm gonna be using a set of kicker resolution components for the rear. the amp i have is a kenwood 4ch putting out 70w rms/channel, but both sets of speakers have a higher rms wattage than that. the kicker res are rated at 100w rms and the cdts are rated at 130w rms. i'm thinking about getting the infinity perfect 7421? 4ch which will put 111w rms x 4. i've never had or heard an infinity amp, so i'm just trying to figure out if that's the best way to go. i'm also probably going to be getting the perfect 611 mono to power my subwoofer. the sub was powered with a kenwood 2ch bridged to 450w rms. i just don't wanna spend all this money on these amps if they're not gonna be a significant improvement over what i have. i've been looking at other amps as well, but i really can't figure out what to do. cardomain has the orion amps at 50% off right now, but those things are friggin huge. i think their 4ch is almost 24in and the mono is 20in lengthwise. i don't know where the hell to put those things otherwise i'd get them. i'd really like to have my trunk-that's why i'm gonna get the quarterwave enclosure for my sub. anyone have any suggestions or have either of these infinity amps by any chance?
Those CDTs will sound great with 70w RMS! That rating is max RMS and they sound great with 40-100 RMS. I would try the amp you have now and you may like it just fine. Save that money and buy the upstage kit and you will definately be impressed.

what's the upstage kit? i should just try the amp i have now-i just figured that if the speakers are able to handle 130w rms, might as well go with a higher w amp as well. wish elemental designs made a 4ch amp that could handle 100w rms. i'd get that and a nine1 for the sub. i love the way their amps look, but i don't want to buy 2 nine.2s and end up with 3 amps. the kenwood amp sounded decent with the kicker components, but i want louder and better. it would save me a bunch of money by just keeping the amps i have now, and i could get other stuff instead.
I would definately try out the amp you have now. I'm fairly sure it will be plenty loud enough for you!If you set the high-pass crossover to 80-100hz, 70 watts will be very loud! Check CDTs website and check out the upstage kit. It will get your soundstage on the windshield and sounds great. With the upstage kit you need to mount the components tweeters as close to the midbass drivers as possible and mount the upstage tweeters in the bottom of the A-pillars. Some of the best imaging I have ever heard in an XB. Sounds pretty sweet in my new Tacoma also!!

ok-i saw what u were talking about-they have both an upstage kit and a center stage kit. i'm assuming that with the upstage kit, that those tweets are just replacing the ones that come with the cl-61, right? i'd love to get the center stage kit as well, but i'm not really liking the idea of leaving to tweeters on my dash against the window. instead, i'm just gonna get the alpine or pioneer center channel speaker that's self amped to 50w rms i believe. not sure where i'm gonna mount that yet either, but it def wouldn't be up against the windshield.
