Alright, I'm getting a Pioneer GM-6400F amp (4 channel, 600w max) and I need a wiring kit to go with it. I've been looking online at various sites (Crutchfield, Sonic Electronix, etc) and all of them are either extremely expensive or iffy. Basically, the Kicker CK44/09ZCK44 kit has exactly everything I need, but has a high price tag. What kit would be a good alternative? Or would I be better off piecing a kit together? Or should I just save my money and wait for the Kicker kit?

kolossus fleks 4-gauge is what i'm running and i recommend it but if you spend less then get the the complete 4 gauge kit (blue wires) but it's only a $10 difference but it's worth it. as for a 4-ch amp i sure you are using that for the speakers and not a sub because then your sub isn't going to bump hard.

as for the kicker kit i had that before and it was great but i forgot why i removed it but your better off just buying from knuconceptz and than pieceing a kit together.

 

Good amp wiring kits are usually higher priced because of the copper used in the power and ground cables. Many of the cheaper cables use aluminum as the conductor, which is not as conductive as copper, but it's cheaper. The loss is not that much, but if you're running close to the max amperage on the cable for a given gauge, go with copper. Also, good interlink (ie RCA cable) costs more too: metal bodied connectors and heavier insulation add up. That being said, even the lower price stuff works too, just a chance of noise getting in the system.

Sometimes, it's better just to buy the power cable by the foot: you get what you need with little waste. Just plan things out well beforehand.

 

Thanks guys for the recommendations, I went over to best buy and turns out they had a Rockford Fosgate kit on sale, so I went with that.

 

bestbuy i just came back from there.. and they had a kicker kit for 65.99.. maybe it was on sale it was the last one i saw.

 

^ It depends on which one you were looking at. Kicker has a few different kits.

My Rockford Fosgate kit works perfectly, so no complaints.
