Nice spots Mandos, that looks pretty ideal if it's not too tough to get into it.

Was pretty easy. Just kind of a pain to get the board the amps were mounted to trimmed to the right size and mounted.

For those of you who mounted your amp in the spare tire well under your box, do any of you have any problems with the amp overheating?
I might be forced to put my amp there against my will due to the size of my box and want to know of any potential problems you guys have had.

if you have the amp overheating you have a lot of problems other than the position. your amp should not be overheating

Mine are in the styrofoam storage area on the passenger side of the subfloor and they never overheat. They're class D PDX's though so they are more efficient than other Class A/B's, so that might be an issue. However, some minor active cooling/venting would probably solve that.

Thanks bud. I doubt my amp will fit in that slot but its good knowing you didn't have any issues with it. If I recall correctly, those PDX amps are pretty small and the amp I'm getting is relatively large. Btw Neb, I'm not expecting to have issues with it I figured I'd ask some people who have done it to make sure they didn't have issues.

Bumpin' an old thread with a new question...

I'll be installing one of my amps in the spare tire as shown above, but I'm wondering what the easiest way to run wire back there from the head-unit/battery is? Is removing the back seats necessary to get the cables through there unseen, or is there a trick to getting them there with the seats still installed?

I have my amp in the same place as Yanki.

Pull the bottom of the rear seat out, but you don't have to take off the back of the seats.
