Has anyone found any faux alcantara that matches almost perfectly with alcantara in the RS2? (And probably the black in the RS3). I ordered a bunch of samples to start comparing and figuring out what matches the best. If anyone found anything they think is nearly perfect let me know so I can get a sample. I'm thinking about taking pics of the samples on the alcantara later. Also note I've seen the Redline Good's suede and like a lot of black faux suede it has a purple tint to it.

no because thats more money than i want to spend covering the door panels. genuine alcantara is $100/yd, and i have no intentions of spending that much.

i would def. look into katskinz like 05 TRD said, they are awesome, and thats an understatement.

i hate cheapo alternatives, if you gonna do something big like replacing upholstery, do it right.

are you talking about micro suede? cause that actually doesnt look bad. If you are wraping them yourself, pop out the console (just two screws) and go to a jo anne fabrics or any fabric store and see what you can match up there.

 

Yes alcantara is fake suede. The hard part is matching the color exactly. Katzkin won't just send me a sample, which sucks. They're making me go to a local installer and I have no intentions of paying them for the install so it's just a pain in my ___. This is just one part of redoing the upholstery. I plan on doing the entire dash, top and bottom sections, the doors and interior panels and the headliner. Katzkin won't do all of those and I can definitely get materials cheaper elsewhere.
