Default Any HU that fits in our car with USB connections?

first of all im not that good at ICE, hence the real noobish question.

but i was just wondering if they ever had released an HU or if anyone knows of a HU that can play MP3s off an external HDD thats connected with the HU.

sort of what an IPOD connection does but with a fairly similar but different device in an external HDD enclosure.

thanks

Alpine sells a USB connector for most of their units.

if its a USB powered external HDD, then it should be powered by almost any USB enabled head unit. If it requires wall power then most likely it will not work unless you find a way to power that (ex: inverter).

For me I would go with Eclipse, take a look at the Eclipse CD5100, it has USB input, and im not 100% sure but on most Eclipse Head Units, they are Plug-and-Play with our harnesses and usually the steering wheel controls work right out of the box, so this one might be able to do that too.

The Kenwood DNX7100 supports USB playback. That's a double-DIN dvd navigation HU.
