Yep the armrest hinge broke and I have 23k miles. No big deal, I thought. I'll just have them replace it under warranty. Took to the dealership and the service lady actually came to tell me the tech said it was abuse, and not covered by the warranty. A "wear and tear" item she said.

LOL ABUSE?? I baby my car inside and out like no other. She said its $175.12 for a new armrest lid assembly.

GTFO! I told her that's bull and I want to talk to somebody. She said ok well I had to "go through all the proper channels" meaning she had to try, I guess.

Came back a couple minutes later saying they are replacing it under warranty.

Are all dealerships this shady? Damn. Life is teaching me that you have to be a firm SOB to get treated fairly.

Good job not tucking in and rolling over when they said you had to pay for it. Having huevos can really save you some pain from time to time.

It didnt even cross my mind that this wouldnt be covered. A part broke that should never break.

 

I thought stuff like this would be considered wear n' tear and not fall under our warranty if someone can clear this up. Either way I would have just bought one here used for around 30dollars and saved the agument for something else down the road you never know.

 

Dou normally replaceur armrest like u do your brakes pads?

 

Wear and tear after 23k miles? Damn, at this rate the entire interior will need to be replaced at 100k mi. And save the argument and pick a used armrest up? No way man. The argument was valid and they knew it; as evidenced by them replacing it.
