Default automatic lock

not sure where im supposed to post this question, but here it goes..

so once you unlock your car, does it automatically lock after a a min or so, if you dont lock it. i was pretty sure it was, but i just wanted to find out.

but recently i had my car broken into, and my ipod was stolen along with the aux cable and my headphones and a few cd's. my window was not broken, and my car alarm did not go off.

i always lock my car, but i figured once i unlocked it to get out, it would automically lock.

No, I don't think it will automatically lock after you get out... It Will though if you unlock it, and then don't open a door. Doesn't anyone leave their car unlocked in their garage? I do every night with my keys sitting on the seat. That would be awful if it auto locked. Sorry about your luck!

the way it works is, if you hit the unlock button on your remote, but you don't actually open one of your doors or hatch, it will automatically re-lock itself because it assumes you didn't do it intentionally. but if you unlock it and then open a door or hatch, it will stay unlocked until you lock it yourself.

and it is possible that your car was broken into with a slim jim or lock picked or something.
