Default On an Automatic Shift Console- Can you tell me what this part is?

Hi

On my kids 2005 TC automatic- he seems to be missing a cover , **** or button for this square area which is above the shift pattern window and below the lighter on an automatic.

What is it that goes here?

Where may I get one?

Thank you!

Image I found on line Not detailed enough to show me what it is :

That is for taking the transmission out of park without depressing the brake. Its used for service or towing. There is not a cool special thingy that goes there.

Thank you sciontc_mich !!!

You guys make the site great!

How on earth were you able to locate the part?

I use the site toyotaexpress as it has images of the parts.

The closest I could get was this page and it doesnt help that much:

http://www.toyotapartsexpress.com/pa...FSkaQgodqGjUZg

hey you're welcome! yeah i went to toyodiy.com and looked up the description, knew it was a shift interlock and found the corresponding description. But I know, looks like magic doesn't it?

here is the link to toyodiy.com that lists the part, sometimes the parts are updated but if you put the part into trdsparks.com under the oem parts search it will show you the updated part number. (there is no update, checked on that already)

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_200...PGKA_3312.html

you're right that picture isn't much help for this plastic cover! neither was trdsparks.com but that's definitely what the part is called. glad it helped you out!
