Hello, I am wondering if there is anyone here who has taken apart the Aux Input port to see what the wiring is between the plug that you plug the audio cable into and the plug that it connects to on the back of the housing. I am going to attempt to wire my own aux input plug (female connector) directly to the output pins on the rear of the stereo, and I am trying to figure out the correlation between the 3.5 mm female audio jack and the 4 pin plug on the rear of the port.

I know a couple people have taken the pod apart, and I know I read about them in the forums, but I can't seem to find the posts (I think one was by ADR something). So either help with the above, or links to posts with possible helper information would be great. Thanks!

why would you wanna attach it to the outputs of the stereo btw?

 

Because I don't have an actual AUX plug. The Scion stereo is going into a Tacoma, and I want to be able to use the AUX function with my satellite radio, as my DF-TOY adapter is kinda crappy, and would rather use the real AUX function. I am going to get pins to put into the factory wire harness for the appropriate pins on the back of the stereo for the AUX input, and I am going to wire them into a mini jack so I can plug in say a portable DVD player for the kids on those long trips, and also hard wire my satellite radio into the rear of the mini jack so that I can have that on whenever I want.
