Default AVHP4000 Questions

Hey guys just installed my Pioneer AVHP4000 and had a few ?'s.

1. I went to Best Buy first to buy the wiring harness and they were saying it was $289..I later went to a local audio shop and bought one for like $30 but it doesnt have the hooks ups for the steering wheel control and the stock subwoofer. Is the $289 wiring harness the one I need to get those things working?

2. How/and is it possible to bypass the DVD player to play while driving?

3. Is there any backgrounds you can download? The three that come with it are pretty lame.

THanks!

honestly no,

1. the steerling wheel control i beleieve the pac-something will make it work and its like 70 give or take.
keep the cables you bought. to make the stock sub still work not sure how you doit but you dont need no $289 cable to work, i think theres a thread here on how to do it.

2. usually you just have to ground the parking cable (green i think) and your set.

3. have no idea.

hope this helps but just to let you know Best Buy is trying to jack your mone

i see that you spend some cash in that tc, why dont you get rid of the stock sub and just buy the ed set up that goes under the floor mat in the trunk? it will sound better and a lot less discreet

Thanks!
And I have 2 12" JL Audio subs and a 2000 rockford fosgate amp just havent installed yet. I'm not real worried about the stock sub, mostly the steering wheel controls.

1. No you can pick up the adapter you need to make the steering wheel controls work for more like 125$ its a separate harness to the wiring harness you got for 30$

2. you cant just ground it for that model you need to put in a switch before you ground it out. I picked one up at radio shack for like 5$..
When you want to use it while driving you have to flip the switch up and down for it too work.

3. I have no idea... the 3 that are on there are pretty lame i want a picture or something that would be awesome

To make the stock sub work, connect the blue (remote) wire from the aftermarket side of the harness to the blue w/ white stripe side of the Toyota harness. That should be all you need for it to work.

Ok so yall are saying I need nothing to make the stock sub work, just re-wire some things, but to make the steering wheel controls work I need to buy additional wiring kit...anyone have a link so I can see exactly what it is?
And yeah it does suck theres no other backgrounds to get.

PAC SWI-PS:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...27SWIPS&tp=476

$75 from Crutchfield, can probably find it somewhat cheaper elsewhere online. Best price I found was $53 shipped from Buy.com:

No, you should not buy anything from Best Buy, honestly, except maybe on Black Friday, haha.

The first thing I said was the name of the product, the "PAC SWI-PS."
