wait no no no that can't be right. cuz when i put a heavy object on the seat it turns the airbag on and activates the seatbelt light...so there HAS to be something in the seat...

No, if u dont have side airbags or that litle tag saying SRS Airbag, then ur good to go for new seats.

then how does the system know if i have something on my seat? cause when i put a heavy thing on my seat (not on the seatbelt) the airbags automatically go on. has nothing to do with the seatbelt

There is an airbag sensor for the driver side on the seat and yes you can change the seats out your airbag will not deploy if your in a front end impact. The seatbelt sensor is built in the locking portion of the seat belt system.

I have replaced my driver seat with a Recaro and I just have the airbag light on all the time.

I am not 100% sure, but i removed my seats out of my xb that had the sensor built in the passenger seat for airbags and i have no problems.. the only thing that happend to me is that the airbag light is on due to it,but nothing else. I am not sure on the TC how it is or if it will work the same way or not, but i am pretty sure it does.

I put a 5ohm resistor into the plug for the airbag sensors when i replaced my stockies with my corbeaus, and the light is off.

Forgive me for I don't have my tC anymore so my memory is a little sketch. I'm pretty sure I had it wired up to the yellow female connector, and I used an inline 5 ohm resistor i picked up at radio shack. Sorry I can't be of more help!

thanks alot..plus do u happen to know if 06 or 07 seatbelts are different...becuase i did a straight swap for my stockies to a pair of corbeaus and we didnt switch out the seat belts from my 07 to his 06s that were connected on the seats already...and thinking thats the reason why my light is on...plus like i said theres one male connector that wasnt connected to anything on the passenger side..

i swapped mine out and my light is on, kinda annoying at first but got used to it. as for the passenger light going on it's because of the weight you put on the seat, it tells the sensor someone must be sitting there and doesn't have their seat belt on and is tring to tell them to bucket up. do this next time you put something heavy there, buckle it up so the light can stop blinking LOL.

lol problem is even if someone is sitting there and buckled up the passenger airbag light is on "off" position, unlike before where when someone sits it auto turns on to "on"..

plus another thing i read that u plug the resistors to the yellow plug.....i dont have a yellow plug underneath...

haven't paid attention to the on/off light while i the passenger is buckled up. as for your airbags they won't deploy on a head on crash but the sides should if you have the side air bags. if you are really concerned about the bags just switch back to stock seats although your biggest mistake was giving them for the seats you have now, you always want to keep your stock stuff no matter what, selling them for new parts at the moment isn't the brightest thing to do...just my opinion.
