Avic F700bt's Microphone fits into steering wheel?
Hi everyone
I recently ordered my Pioneer Avic F700bt from 6ave.com and got it yesterday.
I am planning on installing it this weekend, but there is just one thing I am wondering
Since I have a 07 and there is a steering wheel control, I am thinking about taking out the "mode" bottom and put the microphone there. Is this possible? Seems like a good place to me since I don't really care about the steering wheel control, never use them and they are not going to work with my new HU anyway. Please help me so I don't have to remove everything and find out that is not going to work.
Thanks a lot

Sounds like a cool idea. I put mine on the left side of the black frame of the gauges. It is right next to the air vent. It works well there and is not even noticable. I would be interested in putting it into the mode spot as well. However, It seems tricky, especially dealing with a rotating wheel and wires. I would be careful because if its not done right you will probably yank something out when you turn.

I'm not sure if it will work the mic on my d3 came with a mic stand which is useless so your idea would be a bit better lol. Mine is just dangling from the cubby pannel works fine tho. Your only problem would be making the wire not tug when your turning the wheel left or right if your mic is anything like mine. I have never taken the controls apart to know if it will fit but the diameter of the button hole should be plenty of room for the mics size.
GoodLuck.
GoodLuck.
The mic on the f700 doesn't attach to a mic stand and the button hole looks big enough for the mic so i should be fine on the fitment. yeah..... i am worry about the wire too. I think that is going to be a big problem.... Not sure about it, but I cant wait to go out and install my new head unit
I put the mic from my deck (premier 980BT) next to the sunvisor. Ran the mic down to the fuse panel, where it meets up with the plug from the deck. It lets me swap to the autoEQ mic really easily when needed.
