whos got em and which one are you using?

ive got a

Pioneer D3
1 7" screen in my rear view mirror
2 8" screens 1 in each sunvior...

what im wanting to do is get a back up camera that DOES NOT require any cutting of my car and have it set so that when i back up the D3 and the rear view mirror switch to the back up, but the sunvisors stay on what they were on... can i do that?

i know i can do the D3 and all the screens attached to it.
i know i can do just the rear view screen...

but can i do the D3 +1 but not all screens?

anyone done anything like this before?

 

well seeing as how the D3 will not output the back up camera... so your good on that part...

now you would have to have a reverse wire on your mirror so that is switches the media shown... as long as your mirror has that its as simple as spliting the signal from the camera to the D3 and mirror...

CAMERA-----> Y CABLE RCA ------> D3
-------> MIRROR

 

cool, the mirror does have the wire. i didnt realize the D3 would not output the back up video... will the other screens show the movie or whatever, or will they just go blank when backing up?

i have a pioneer ND-BC2, i didnt cut into my car to install it. im actually selling it (pm me if you're interested) once i get my boyo cam in (i have to drill but in the long run itll look cleaner.. esp on a SW ). i love the ND-BC2 its clear, and the glare isnt that bad even when lights are directly on it. im picking up a boyo VTL400 since it blends in better with SW.. well sorta. ahaah

as far as keeping the movie playing while you back up, im sure you are able to play a movie in the back while keeping nav in the front (well rearview in this case). i know the z1 has that feature and ill check if the d3 does too (im sure it does but i can promise it).

 

hmm sounds like a good setup. Pics of your screen? yea ND-BC2 is good.. I've thought of doing this before, just had a change of interest.. And yea think its doable


And ADR selling ND-BC2? interested... how much?

 

just ordered all my screens on friday, of course ill post up pics when i get them all installed.... how much for the camera? im not sure which one im gona get, where did you have it installed before you took it out?

 

Check out the gallery pic in my profile. Its a double screen mirror with back up cam. I have a license plate holder for the cam if you so desire to not tap into your car. It also might fit into a keyhole but dont know that forsure. Bothe screens play what you want it to then when reverse hits the monitor switches to the back up cam and back again when your done. Its pretty cool and very clean looking. Let me know if you have any questions. I also just have the back up cam and license plate mount. I think its like 50 dollars or so. I would have to check for sure so let me know if your intrested!
