best car battery to get?
I remember there were a few batteries I would see on the car tv shows. I know some had red tops and some yellow. I even think there were blue for boats. Does anybody know which type of battery this "premium" battery is? .....and where is the best priced spot to get it?

I'll be honest, If you get Optima, get the red top. Yellow tops suck. I had one in my truck and a little over 2 years and it don't hold a charge any more. Not to mention that If you have them in a car with upgraded car audio, they don't warranty the battery.
There's another battery out there (more for car audio purposes) called SVR batteries. Those suckers are awesome!!

The standard yellow top fits perfectly in the xB, therefore they will fit in the tC. The battery tie down will be the onlt stumbling point because the batteries are not very tall. As far as quality, I had a yellow top sit on concrete for 2 yrs, a battery no no, then just dropped it into my xB, not only did it start right up, but it hasn't given me any problems for the past 3 years and the battery is already 5 years old ..
Not your typical story, but not your typical battery either ..

So let me get this straight... you had a battery sit for two years... On concrete of all things, dropped it in and it started right up..??? Congrats! That is the most amazing thing I have heard today!!!
Overall on battery life, my last redtop lasted 6 years with no issues, I then traded in the car so who knows how long it would have lasted.

Yeah that is correct, before dropping it in I put a meter to it and it read 12.8V, so I thought the meter was broken. So I thought I'd test it by putting it in my car. Once it started up I decided to leave it in ....

battery
kinetik batteries are awesome, my friend holds a constant 15v on his cap and it goes down to like 14.7 at most with 500 watts on a w7, so id say, and the optima before that made it drop to like 13.8, so you decide, they are morrrre expensive however, but they are the best battery i know of for automotive use
