Default blown factory speakers

Well.. after 7 years I have finally destroyed the factory speakers (well at least the fronts) on my 2006 TC.

I'm still running the factory radio with a single 10" sub.

I'm looking at just replacing all 4 of the factory speakers with some that sound just as good or better. I plan on only using the factory head unit power.

What are most efficient / good sounding speakers that I can replace the stocks with?

Thanks!

Check out crutchfield for more info and reviews on the speakers. I have the infinity kappa speakers, not in the tc but my daily driver running off of an amp and they sound amazing. I woukd assume they would sound great off of srock power as well.

I do believe you need new baffles to mount most if not all aftermarket speakers.
Doc Isotope makes them

Yes I am aware of that, thanks. I just want to know what aftermarket speakers sound the best with the stock headunit and no amp.

the best will be those with the highest sensitivity rating. The more sensitive a speaker is to an input (wattage in this case) the louder it is. and with a headunit the only thing powering speakers, you want efficient (sensitive) speakers. anything greater than 90-91db for sensitivity would be good.

i just looked up those Pioneer TS-A1604C speakers, they're rated at 90db for sensitivity.. rms is 2-50, not bad.. and reviews on sonic say people are running them with the headunit, and they sound good!

I say its a nice find. With a 6 3/4" fit our opening? or just get a different sized baffle? looks like you're on the right track with this!! good job!

also found them at sonicelectronics, been buying stuff from them before, so had to give the link.. good place!
