I got it off ebay for $25. It is a MK1 shift ****...here is the link. I love it because it matched the interior really well.

How come no one paints the grey plastic shift plate? I was looking at mine today and thought that it would look really nice in carbon black, rather than boring grey.

I mean the shifter piece where the P N R 3 2 1 is, unless I am color blind it still looks greyish....

Has anyone ever tried to grind down youir shift shaft thing? It would be cool about an inch lower don'cha think? I guess you would need to rethread it but other that that its easily pheasable i think.

^^^yeah they have talked about that about a gazillion times.....if u have an auto just do the conversion it will look short, if u have a manual just get a short-shifter....both are wayyyy easier than cutting the thing and rethreading it......
