Broken IPod in jack, what to do?
Hi all-
I'm attempting to fix a friend's I-Pod jack tomorrow on her tC, a car I don't know much about. The male end of the connector broke off and is lodged inside the I-Pod jack. Any ideas about the best way to get this out? Or is it hopeless and a new jack should be installed? I've done a search and think taking apart the console shouldn't be a problem, but I'm not sure what I'll find when I do. Thanks.

Its pretty simple, just take off the area around the shifter first, then the cupholders. The ipod wire runs from the armres all the way to a connector around the shifter. On my car it was wrapped in a type of foam with a zip-tie over it. You unplut it there. Then you can just pop that section into the armrest and try to get the broken part out. If you can get the broken part out, all you really need is an ipod cable.
