Default C-Pillar Removal in 08+ tC?

Dumb question (Yes, I searched), has anyone removed there's? I tried removing mine the other night to prep to wrap them this winter and i get everything popped off except there's one piece that looks like a metal 4mm rod going into the side.
My only question is, is this something to do with the rear curtain airbags? or just something to hold in place? (I didn't want to rip it down and completely bust everything.)

thanks,
-Chris

if you have curtain airbags, it'll have the same clip that is used in the a-pillar (assuming you have removed those before)

at worst cut the plastic that is around the pin, that is waht i had to do.......they are $4 for a pair at dealership and they can get them in like 24 hours.it is recomended to replace the plastic pieces anyway when the panel is removed.
