Can other mp3 players hook up to the aux port, like the Ipod does? Or does it have to be an Ipod? I know I have to buy the cable separate.

Thanks, hey I might go with the Zune because it has a FM tuner...may get one for my stepdaughter or a Nano. Can't decide yet.

you could even go Old School and hook up a cassette walkman! lol

anything that uses a 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack can use the AUX input.

im usally anti ipod.. but if you go to apples website or store today you can get some good deals.. i think you can get like 30 bucks off a 80gb ipod classic.

the only thing about using the aux in is that you have to change the tracks from the player itself rather then use the controls on the HU... with the ipod you can use the controls of the dash or steering wheel to go threw the tracks

I'm kinda anti-apple too, but I ended up getting an 80gb classic since I have an Alpine and it integrates with it. I wish Microsoft would get companies to support the Zune.

That's it for the stereo...I need to call Alpine about the Blackbird though, half the time it can't get a signal.

for the GPS, i think we mounted in the same place, im on the passanger side of the dash right in the corner, and have no problems getting 11 sat signals within a min.
If you take it out and use the internal you should get about 4 sitting in the car.

Mine is right above the headunit in the middle, under the dash. I think I'm going to try moving it to one of the a pillars to see if that fixes it. I'll be driving along and it randomly loses signal.

if its loosing all signal, its wireing issue, its pinched, or loose in the back, but i think its a screw on so it shouldnt be loose

I just took out the headunit and the wire was firmly connected, plus I didn't see any pinched points. I ran it over to the driver-side A pillar. Hopefully that fixes it.
