can you paint a sub?
my buddy has a 15" sub i dont even remember the brand, i've never heard of it and its black and he wants to paint it red. i just told him not to do it i couldnt really think of a good reason not to aside from it might ruin the sub, but can you paint a sub?
honestly, I dont know paint very well.. I would say something a little nicer? More along the lines of car paint or something? Maybe a simple rattle can would work.. I dont know.. maybe a paint guy or body shop guy can chime in

i dont see any reason why you cant...just make sure paint doesnt get in the motor
if you add weight to the cone of any speaker, you change its sound characteristics. If you paint it you'll end up changing the efficiency, transient response, frequency response, etc. I'm not sure how much of a difference it will really make though. For the most part, speaker manufactures try to make the lightest stiffest cone possible for a subwoofer. I've heard of some crazy audiophiles that would actually put weights on the cones to get a more desirable sound, but those guys also listen to analog sources (4-track, records, etc.)
