car audio problem
aight here it is, i had a system installed in my toyota avalon back before the scion, i bought the scion and just put the system in there, its a 1000w amp with a 10 pioneer sub and i have rockford fosgate wires connecting them to the car, now the problem is that everything is connected and sometimes when i turn the car on the system wont work, and someimtes when i turn the car on the system will work???? everything is connected and EVERYTIME whether or not the sub is actually thumping, i hear the sub turn on and off when i turn my car on or off. please help if u have any idea what im talking about.
well i had a local shop install it for me about a week ago, so i think its grounded at a seat, i dont wanna take it back there cuz with my luck it will start workin the second i get near the place and wont work the second i leave.
check one of the many 12v constant wires and make sure that they're actually receiving 12V. if not, a new battery may be in your future.
this sounds alot like a guy that was having similar problems the other day over on a car audio forum I visit. He checked a 12V wire and it was only receiving 10.5-11v. the remote wire would periodically supply the voltage to turn the amp on, and then it would dip too low and the amp would shut off again. his battery was screwed up. a battery change and he's a-ok.

First let me say good luck on fixing this.
In reading this I see a few things that make me scratch my head.
First is the ground for your amp(s) using the seat bolt for the ground is not the best choice for a ground. This can cause you a number of issues.
Second is the high level adaptors. these things have gotten better over the years but they are still just so so.
Third, I can't tell by the post but it sounds like you have re used some of the wires from the Avalon. If this is the case I would suggest that you check your wires. You may have a bad set of RCAs.
Any way good luck, and always turn up the volume.

This is a long shot, but does it work when certain accesories are on? Like only when the headlights are on? or dome light?
It could be whatever they used as the source for the remote wire.
its a long shot, but its got to be hooked up to something that turns on since you have a stock headunit

I need help... My stock stereo is hooked up to my 2 10" JBL subs with 1200wat amp. all installed by cartoys. When am sitting it sounds fine and when i start moving the bass gets a lot louder and doesnt sound too good. but if am sitting and hit the gas in park or neutral the bass doesnt change so i thought it might be a power problem but am not sure now. I need help on what is going on. Does Scion stock stereo have a road noise inside the stereo or is it the battery, alternator, not enough power or what???? Someone help....

hey strep, after you check all your wires and 12v sources (i suggest a multimeter :D ), where did you place your amp? i remember putting mine in the little cubby hole in the trunk, and it got really hot and eventually led to it shutting down because of the temperature as a safety feature. im not too familiar with pioneer amps, but air flow could be a reason why. other than that, id also suggest going back to the shop where you got it installed, cause you did pay for it. good luck! :D
