What are you going to use for the neutral safety?

This has been discussed and always ruled a BAD idea. If you are knowledgeable enough to do the install, i'm sure you can figure out why it's not a good idea.

I guess i'll soon find out. Whether this works or not I will find a safe way to do it.

You will also need to figure out how to bypass the clutch being pushed in to start the car. Car wont start with the clutch out.
I have wanted a remote start on mine, but am so scared of what happens if its left in gear.

It’s a bad idea if you install the remote-start and bypass the safety feature. But he isn’t going to bypass it, he’s going to modify it to work as intended.

I’d be interested to know how you’re doing this. Is it a design that would guarantee that the vehicle won’t start if the sensor/circuit should happen to fail? Redundancy is the key when dealing with safety dependant electronics.

The clutch sensor can also be bypassed… I meant modified… The remote-start signal can “bypass” the depressed-clutch signal, while still leaving it fully operational for a manual start

before everyone starts jumping in his crap let him do a writeup. ive had remote start on mine for over a year and a half. im also the only one who drives it and i also have the capability to turn off the remote start. the clutch bypass is simple. and there are many ways for the car to know its in gear. alot of folks use IR lights to trip the alarm and disable remote start. if the beam is broken (by the car being in gear) then the car wont start. i myself dont use this but i have seen it done and its really not that in depth.

I have already installed the alarm, I will just show you how to wire a relay for the clutch bypass, so you still have cruise control. I will also show you the neutral safety switch and how to install with with 2 stage protection(reed relay and parking brake w/relays). Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I will be making my own key bypass so I don't have to buy a 556u or 556uw. I will be doing the install on Sun. and Mon., so hopefully I will have a write up and pics on Tues.(6-26-07) I have a VIPER 791v
