because the wires connected to the cathode are only 6" long or so, and can't be extended, you need to have a transformer for each footwell.

true, 1 tube will be bright enough... but the problem lies with getting the tubes mounted while only using 1 transformer. the power and ground wires running to the transformer can be as longa s you want... on the other hand though, the wires from the opposite end of the transformer to the cathode itself cannot be extended. this only gives you like 6" of wire to play with. it's a real stretch to get the cathodes mounted in the front footwells knowing this.

some passenger may not realize that you have breakable pieces of glass mounted to the panel under your glove box and kick his feet in there by accident.
