anyone have the compustar 2wss-as alarm and remote start unit, or very familiar with it? for some reason my remote starter isn't working anymore. it'll turn on as if it's about to remote start, but then it kinda just stops. the lights and everything go on as if the car is started, but the car won't crank up. there's nothing wrong with starting the car when i do it manually. any suggestions? i thought it might be the remote, because i kinda f'd it up, but everything else works right.
u might wana check wer they put the xtra key. it might have shaken loose. that little box thing. do a little xperiment. set it to auto start but insted of taking the key out of the ignition leave it den ato start it from the controller.....if it starts den set it agen and this time take out the key. if it doesnt start den ur guna hav to look for the box idat should be somewer under ur driver dashboard. open it n check it. ur xtra key in da box shud just be loose
yeah... what he said... ^^ lol
um... yeah... so it initiates the remote start... and doesnt even crank... or does and doesnt start... you need to clarify a little more... i am an compustar dealer.... but prefer the autopage or viper stuff i carry a little more...

it initiates the remote start, but doesn't crank. i actually just heard back from compustar today and they were telling me that some of the options may have been reset because the battery was unplugged for a while. it's been such a pain in the a$$ with this whole alarm system this time. i had the 2wfm900 before and that thing was always fine. this 2wss has just been giving me all types of probs. when u unlock the car, only the driver's side unlocks. the pass side doesn't unlock anymore. that's why i actually think compustar might be right when they said some of the options reset. i just gotta find a compustar dealer to go to and have them fix it all again. i also need to get a new remote-my remote's destroyed. someone at smithtown toyota's service dept smashed the thing, and when i went to pick up my car i saw it. the service guy told me that it was like that when it came it. bunch of friggin scumbags-after i paid them almost a $1000 to get the friggin supercharger installed, they bang me in the head one last time on the way out. on top of that, they broke my friggin reverse light sensors, so i have no reverse lights right now. sorry-i'm ranting on a tangent right now. anyways. thanx for the input on the alarm guys.
yeah it sounds like they reset it...
the reason it doesn't unlock the pass door any more is cause its needs to be set to double pulse... then it will work... its also sounds like they bumped the bypass ... cause without the bypass... (the key in the little box) the car wont even crank... if you were in the Chicago area i would be more then happy to help you out... but you had to be from long island.. j/k

its all depends on how electrically savvy you are...
if you have the install manual... and they didn't hide the programming switch, you could more than likely go thru the steps to get it programmed...
the bypass is a little black box under the dash... usually you can trace the wires from the ignition back to the box... make sure your plugs are still plugged in... then if you have the tools (digital multi-meter or power probe) make sure you have 12 volts(red wire), ground(black wire) and ground during remote start(blue wire)......
um.... oh and yeah i do sell the remote... when i get to the shop tomorrow i will see how much they are...
