Console Help.....
ok so my LED's were switched out in the console, i tested all the led's before i put the plastic piece back on and they worked fine....when i plug the console back in everything works fine, the blue light for the clock works fine and the orange lights come on when i turn the air on.........but when i turn the lights on the entire console basically shuts down, including the air conditioner, and the clock starts blinking......anyone have any idea on how to fix this?
I pmd you some things to look at.. here is some of what I sent:
First, open it up and check everything.. preferably with a magnifying glass, to make sure not even a small spec of wire or solder made it into any of the pins of something.. especially the processor (the larger square IC on the board with all the pins). This sounds like a logic issue, so hopefully you will find a short somewhere. The worst case would be a static damaged processor, which I have seen before (two people have had to send them to me because it was damaged when someone did thier mod), that would require a replacement board.
If all else fails I am willing to look at it and try to determine what is going on as well. I would need to plug it into my car and do some troubleshooting. I have mapped out a lot of the signals that control the lighting (they are logic controlled) so I can get an idea quickly what is causing the issue. It sounds partly like your dimmer circuit is out of whack. If the processor is not sending the correct signal to one transistor on the board it can cause that. But the clock blinking is another issue (if you mean the numbers themselves are blinking). If it is the lighting behind the clock blinking.. then we are back to the dimmer control circuit. The system dims the lights behind the clock when you turn on the headlights . Let me know, either here or by pm what you find and I will see if I can figure it out.
