Crossover Mounting & Amplifier Wiring Questions!
Hey guys, I'm thinking about installing my own RSD's and amp now to save $115 of having circuit city doing it. However, I'm VERY new to audio installs and wiring, the only thing I've done is wire my HU.
So guys, in your tC's, where have you mounted your crossovers? And how did you run the wires? Up the side panels under the sills?
Also, how did you wire your amps? Do you run the 4AWG cable up the panels and sills? And where do you ground it? Oh, and how/where did you run the RCA cable from the HU to the amp?
Thanks in advance, it would help a TON if you guys had any pics/tutorials too

what are RSD's?
Anyways I mounted my crossovers high in the kick panels. I ran the siginal wire(RCA's and Speaker wire) under the passenger sill...I think it was a while ago. I ran the power under the driver sill. I grounded my amp to the crossbeam near the back of the seats under the "floor"

phoenix gold rsd component set im guessing. Crossovers is all preference on where to mount them ive seen them put in the door panel pockets in the quarterpanel..never wired them though
the amp run your 4awg wire from the + battery terminal shove it though one of the sleeves in the firewall and then go in your car and try to find out where it is(usually helps with 2 ppl). then route it under your carpet ...just find a way to get it to you amp location. you need a set of rca that will go from the HU and go to your amp. then from your speakers you run speaker wire to your amp. then your signal wire is hooked up to the signal wire on the HU. and that goes to your amp...try a search on google that may help with pictures or a better description

IS it actually true that you aren't supposed to run the speaker wire alongside the 4AWG power wire? I only ask because I don't really want to run both lines of speaker up on side and have to cross the width of the car with wire at the front for my driver side door...
I just heard that you're not supposed to :-\ forgive me if I'm wrong.

^^^ That's a myth - but the more popular version is that you're not supposed to run the RCAs next to the power wire in fear of picking up noise. I've shown in other threads that if you have a good ground connection, there's nothing wrong with running wires near/next to each other.
I'm also going to be getting the PG RSD65cs's and I'm sort of confused on how to mount the tweeters to the kick panel securely. I'm also confused on what wiring kit to get for a comp install.
