Default soda can explosion...

Hey guys! I searched for an answer but didn't really find one specific to my needs. It turns out out that I recently noticed stains (from a soda ) on my rear left headliner & the cup-holder plastic. My careless girlfriend let my niece drink soda in my car . They left an unopened can in the car & in one of our hottt summer days in SoCal, in 80 + degree weather, caused the can to "explode." The tc is my daily driver so I am not a furious & I have been in & out of town for the past 7 months, not really paying attention to the car, which is the reason why I just noticed. She tried to clean it but it is still very noticeable.

My question is, is it possible to remove the stains/stickiness look on the headliner? If so, what is the best method/products to use.

Thanks in advance.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It's amazing. Really. Try that before ANYTHING ELSE.

I second that oxi-clean suggestion, I've seen it work some magic on a lot of stains. But the magic eraser is also good on hard surfaces!

"You probably know that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser® can clean crayon off your walls. But can it clean your furniture? It probably depends on the fabric. We recently called our furniture company service department to have some pen removed from our couch. Our little Picasso decided it would make a great canvas. Luckily we paid for a service agreement as he also thought his brothers brand new headboard was a good place to poke with a pen, several dozen times. The furniture company took the headboard for refinishing. That alone was worth the $200 service agreement.

When it came to removing the marker the service tech was rubbing it out with a rag, so I thought. I asked him if they had a special cleaner. He told me it was just a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser® with a little water sprinkled on it. He rubbed the pen stain right out and the cushion looked as good as new. I’m not sure if this will work on all furniture fabric. Our couch has some kind microfiber fabric that is very durable.

Next time you see a stain on your couch it might be worth trying the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser®, just test on a small area first to be sure it does not discolor your fabric or cover."

as always, let us know how it turns out!

Would the little tide to go pen also work? I haven't used these yet, I did have a soda accident but it only got on the hard plastic of the dash and my neoprene covers, which are removeable, washable and don't stain in water

Tide pen is alright, but wouldn't be the best.

Let us know how this goes and what you used.

I wouldn't try the Tide to go pens....a lot of those will bleach out fabric if it isn't cleaned out within a couple days. Plus, if any sunlight hits it that can probably bake it into the fabric & cause bleaching as well.

I'll second (or 3rd) the magic erase.
