Current Project "sub Boxes"
Ive been wanting to do something custom for my Tc for some time now figured i would give fiberglass the good old "college try"
Over 2 days and 10+ trips to autozone / lowes this is what i have so far....

So far its been pretty easy, the hardest part would have to be cutting the 10" rings ... and now to get the other side to look the same !
Also anyone have any suggestions for subs to put in these boxes its about 1Qft air space i currently have a 10" eclipse sw8000 i really like the sub but im going to need 2 shallow subs for these boxes now more then 5"-6" deep

Very nice price/performance, great SQ.
Here's another really good one that's <5" deep and would work well in 1' sealed;

Nice fiberglass work & design!
Edit: Just found another potential candidate for ya;

At only $56 each you can't loose, great sub at an insane sale price.

was thinking about
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575P2D4...owAll=N&tp=111
or
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SWE1...owAll=N&tp=111
crutchfield always has the 2 for 1 deals going on so price is pretty decent !
Right now i have a Kicker ZX400.1 amp, not sure if this a good amp to push a set of either subs or not
^ x2
cut up mat in 2 inch squares and mix it in with the resin and then just pour it on the inside to make sure that it is thick enough. check out the pics in my sig, i did a custom box about a month ago and got plenty of pics of the build process

This is my first time doing it so I better be safe then sorry
And BTW your box looks amazing !
thanks, yea this was my first box too but i had plenty of help.
what we did was put down the fleece and poured resin all over it until it was really saturated and let it dry. then we cut up the mat and built up the thickness from the inside out. it made the bondo process much easier since we didnt have to mess with many high and low spots.
We built mine in 4 days but i dont know how many hours were spent. jsut take your time and get all of the prep work perfect since it will make painting it that much easier.

Alpine: they're 4-Ohm so 2 wired parallel will present a 2-Ohm load on your amp, providing 400w total, which would be fine. However, for SQ they really need a bigger box, even though they're spec'd for .75-1.5', they'll sound much better with a 1.25-1.5' box.
Rockford: they'd work well in your 1.0' boxes, but you'd be down on amp power because they're dual 4-Ohm, such that final wiring would be 4-Ohm at the amp, producing only 200w total.
If I had to choose one or the other, I'd go with the Rockford over Alpine for your specific implementation.
That said, all the subs I linked to would provide you with better performance, so try not to worry just because you're not familiar with those brands, they're all VERY reputable and any would meet your requirements.
