Default In-Dash DVD Flush?

I saw a few posts saying that with a 7" In-Dash Screen that the console door cannot be closed without modification. Is this true? What sort of modification would be needed? Or does this depend on the individual receiver?

If anyone has come across this and can offer any insight it'd be appreciated as I'm looking into units. Thanks.

I just installed mine, and what I chose to do is take out the stock brackets and redrill them to make the dvd sit flush...

I recommend taking your stock deck out...put your new deck ontop the stock one with hte brackets still on...line up the holes...and u will see how far it would sit out, then move the dvd deck backwards to have the fronts line up. then mark where the holes would line up and redrill the holes there/slot them backwards...mine sits perfectly flush now!

There was a post on here w/ pics...will try to find it again and post it here!
EDIT: here it is with pics

Basically you'll want a Metra 95-8202 kit that you can purchase at Circuit City.

Alright, that will help. I came up with one other concern, when the screen is up, will it rest against the open door or is this not a problem?

Thanks again.

It's not a problem. I'll post a few pics of how it looks in my car when I get home from work.

I had to angle my radio down a bit so that the screen clears the door when it is open.
This causes the screen itself to be angled down. If I had to do it over again I would get a double din screen.

CXT - what is that on your clock? Do you have a custom screen for something there? It looks diff!

oh and I was just thinking double din screens, not sure about ones that come out and fold up...may cause problems and tilt as cxt said...dunno...

I have an extra if you need assuming you have it all desoldered and all that jazz, I could mail it to you.

I bought a couple of extra HVAC control units because I do a TON of LED swaps in my area. I try to pre-wire the HVAC controls to make the job quicker.

Anyway, I can mail you one if you need. Free of charge, would be glad to help out a fellow scioner.
