I have a Pioneer AVIC-D1. Nice HU, but no built in DVD function. I just have a TV tuner/ DVD player in my glove compartment. Works fine like that.

I have a panasonic CQ-VD6503U and I LOVE it. Radio Works great, I have the DVD function which also kicks A$$, even have a gamecube hooked up to it lol. It fits in the stock brackets, just had to re-drill the holes so the cover would still come down, then got some filler material and cut it to fill the gaps

I have the Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD. 6 disc in-dash dvd player. Reuse of the stock brackets and no re-drilling needed.

I have the pioneer avic-d2. It supports both DVD with an external player and navigation. A pic is in my profile. I couldn't be happier with it.
