Default DIY- SUB PLUG 2 & WIRING KIT!!!

This is the how to for Gordon’s awesome product. Sub Plug 2. So here is how u do it...

Tools:

10 mm socket wrench
12 mm socket wrench
Plier
Sub plug 2 with the optional wiring kit ( I recommend u get a kit as well, helps speed up the DIY process). Lets start from the front and work our way back.

Before getting started if u bought the wiring kit as well, cut wires to desired length and expose tips of each wire. Plier each exposed tip to the teeth gold/ round end silver clamp (which ever is better. Amp’s like the teeth where the car loves it round). You will not need to cut any wires from your car. The only cutting will be on the kit you bought. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISHAPS. This is all from what I did.

The engine bay

1) Disconnect the positive batty line.

2)Cut the red power line long enough so it can reach from the battery to a desired placement of the Boss fuse capsule. This line should have a round clamp for the battery on one end and an expose line on the other end.

3) connect the round clamp to the positive side on the battery.

4) connect the expose line to one side of the fuse capsule.

5) Run the left-over power line from the other side of the capsule. Both ends should be exposed.

6) find a good entrance for the power line to run through (I used the rubber wire cover located close to the bottom of the door. You will see it when u open the door. By doing this, you’d have to push to rubber forward and there will be a hole big enough to run the power wire from the fender to the inside fuse box)

From the driver side

1) Remove side guards and fuse box cover. This is where you should run the line.

2) Remove shifter trim as well as the HVAC trim.

3) remove the 4 screws holding the head unit together.

4) remove all 3 plugs in the back of the head unit.

5) If you have the stock head unit then go to number 9. If you have the optional 6 cd changer, read on.

6) Splice the remote thin blue wire and connect it to the blue end running from the sub plug. Use the pink connector from the kit.

7)On the Sub plug, your gonna have to do a little modding. On the highlighted portions, you will have to shave it clean so that it won’t block you from plugging it into the head unit.

8. There is a blockade that will stop you from putting the sub plug on so this is a must.

9) Insert sub plug in the head unit.

10) Insert sub plug to stock plug.

11) Plug RCA’s together.

12)Run wires through the back left corner through the driver foot well. (Except the RCA wire, run it through the right side)

13) Reinstall Headunit, HVAC, shifter trim.

14) with the wires hanging from the driver foot well, tuck it under the driver foot well away from any connection with the pedals all the way to the fuse box where it will hide behind.

15) run all 2 wires (power -red- wire, and Remote -thin blue- wire) through the side guards, through the side of the rear left passenger. Sorry no pics.

16) For the RCA, run it through the passenger side all the way through the back.

From the trunk

15) You should have 3 wires running from the front to the trunk.

16) Try to find a ground placement. (From the kit, use the dark grey wire)

17) From what I use, remove the rear spare tire cover and the right storage box. There you will find 2 screws from the shocks, Remove the left nut using a 12 mm wrench.

18. One end of the ground should have a round clamp so it can connect to the shock screw.

19) Connect round end to the exposed screw from the shock. Screw back the lock nut. Make sure its tight.

20) the other end of the wire should run back up through all the cargo holder and the spare tire cover.

21) No you should have 4 wires in your trunk RCA wire, Remote wire, Ground wire, and Power wire.

22) Now just connect all your wires to the amps.

23) Plug back the battery positive line.

Listen to that BASS!!! If there are any questions please pm or comment... thanks
